Molina Sets School Record at Willamette Invitational

SALEM, Ore. – Highlighted by Jessica Molina's record-setting performance in the hammer throw the Oregon State University track and field team wrapped up competition at the Willamette Invitational on Saturday evening in Salem on the campus of Willamette University.
"It was a solid day for the conditions we had," began head coach Louie Quintana. "The throwers are continuing to build momentum."
The Beavers set two all-time top-10 marks including a school record in the hammer throw. Molina took third in the event with a throw of 174-feet 5.5-inches, breaking the previous record by more than a foot. Sydney Guthrie-Baker notched the fourth-best mark all-time with a toss of 166-feet 8-inches.
Oregon State brought a small contingent to compete in the javelin this weekend. Amber Peschka's won the event with a throw of 140-feet 10-inches.
The Beavers ran in only one event, the 1,500 meters, with Kristiane Width taking third place with a time of 4:37.25. Kala Kopecek (4:37.54) was close behind in fourth.
Up Next
The Beavers are splitting duties next weekend with some athletes heading to the Stanford Invitational and others competition at the San Francisco State Invitational.
