ST. GEORGE, Utah – Make it three consecutive top-five finishes this spring for the Oregon State women's golf team.

The Beavers finished fourth at the 14-team Entrada Classic on Tuesday with a 17-over 291-299-291--881 at the par-72, 6,098-yard Entrada at Snow Canyon Country Club.

No. 48 BYU won the team title with an even-par 864, No. 18 Kent State finished second with a 2-over 866 and Texas Tech rounded out the top three with a 14-over 878.

Oregon State finished ahead of two teams ranked among the golfstat.com Top 50 (No. 26 North Carolina and No. 49 SMU) and has notched three top-five finishes in as many spring tournaments with a fifth-place showing at the Westbrook Spring Invitational and a third-place mark at the Meadow Club Women's Intercollegiate.

"It was another strong finish for the Beavers on the final day," Oregon State head coach Dawn Shockley said. "This team is truly playing for one another and battling to the end every tournament. I'm very proud of the way they are preparing and competing for Oregon State."

Sophomore Nicole Schroeder finished in a career-best third place with a steady 3-under 71-71-71--213. It was just one stroke off her best three-round score of 4-under 212 that she posted at the Ron Moore Invitational this past fall to finish in a then-career best tie for eighth place.

Schroeder led the 75-player field with 14 birdies and didn't have anything worse than a bogey over the three rounds. She has finished in red figures in eight of her 14 rounds this season.

"I'm really pleased with Nicole with how hard she has worked and how she stayed patient this entire tournament," Shockley said.

Freshman Ellie Slama finished in a tie for fifth place with an even-par 69-76-71--216. She led the field with 40 pars and now has two career top-five finishes after claiming medalist honors at the Ron Moore Invitational this past fall.

Junior Olivia Benzin moved five spots up the leaderboard on the final day to finish in a tie for 23rd place with an 8-over 77-73-74--224. She had eight birdies and 33 pars during the two-day, 54-hole tournament.

Sophomore Mari Nishiura shot a 13-over 74-79-76--229 to finish in a tie for 37th place and senior Susie Cavanagh was two strokes back with a 15-over 77-79-75--231 to finish in a tie for 43rd.

The Beavers have two weeks off before competing at the Anuenue Spring Break Classic, which will be held Monday, March 26 to Wednesday March 28 in Kapalua, Hawai'i.
