Dual B Standard Times Highlight Day Three of Championships

Letrari and Anderson team up for eighth combined NCAA B Standards of 2017-18
FEDERAL WAY, Wash. – The Oregon State University swimming program got a pair of NCAA B Standard times from the duo of sophomore Felicia Anderson (Portland, Ore.) and junior Arianna Letrari (Bolzano, Italy) to spearhead the day three look at the Pac-12 Championships at the Weyerhaeuser King County Aquatic Center on Friday.
"This was a strong day for us," said head coach Jennifer Buffin. "We had a lot of best times and getting individual points on the board with two finals swims.
"The 400 medley relay team also had a great season performance after shaving almost six seconds off the time set at the 69th Husky Invitational back in December. Saturday is our strongest day, so I'm looking forward to a few more individual finals and top times from everyone in the program."
Anderson swam in the 'B' final of the 100 back and clocked a 54.29 in her heat to tally her fourth individual B standard of the season to finish 14th in the event. Anderson was just shy of her personal best of 54.19 set on the second day of the Husky Invite.
Letrari added her fourth individual B standard time after swimming in the 'C' final of the 100 fly and clocking a time of 53.88 in the event to finish 19th overall. Letrari was only 13-hundredths of the second off her personal best in the event, last set at the Husky Invite.
Outside of the final, several other Beavers turned in season bests on the day, starting with junior Megan Lam (Portland, Ore.) shaving 2.5 seconds off her season best in the 100 fly with a time of 56.40 to narrowly miss the cut on the finals.
In the 200 free, five separate Oregon State swimmers posted season bests, led by freshman Riley Neal (Hillsboro, Ore.) who touched the wall in 1:51.90 to finish 42nd in the prelims.
Freshman Callan Jackman (Dublin, Calif.) and senior captain Noemie Midrez (Verviers, Liège, Belgium) went back-to-back at 44th and 45th in the same event as the duo clocked times of 1:52.53 and 1:52.59, respectively.
Freshman Amina Bachir (Las Vegas, Nev.) and senior Emma Osowski (Valencia, Calif.) rounded out the quintet in the event as they clocked times of 1:57.01 (52nd) and 1:58.92 (53rd) to wrap the event.
Freshmen Brooke Hofmann (Stayton, Ore.) and Fernanda Rodriguez (Portland, Ore.) paved the way in the 100 breast with respective season bests of 1:04.41 (28th) and 1:05.90 (32nd) as Hofmann tallied her third season best during the four-day championships.
Lam added yet another season best in the 100 back with a time of 59.06 to finish in 30th, while freshmen Isabelle Bishop (Davis, Calif.) and Madelyn Rainey (Bellevue, Wash.) added times of 58.85 (28th) and 58.91 (29th), respectively.
The 400 medley relay team of Anderson, Letrari, Hofmann and Jackman clocked a 3:44.40 in the event to conclude OSU's day.
The Beavers will wrap up the four-day event on Saturday, February 24. OSU is currently ninth in team scoring with the 200 back, 100 free, 200 breast and 200 fly still to come. The 1650 free and the 400 free relay will also take place on the final day of the Pac-12 Championships.
