Beavers, Trojans Set For Saturday Night Tilt

vs. USC: Oregon State and USC meet for the 137th time in history with the Trojans leading the series, 72-64, including a 38-23 advantage in games played in Los Angeles.

Since 1990, USC is 22-4 at home in the series with the Oregon State wins coming in 1995, 2003, 2010 and 2014.

USC won the first game between the teams this season, 74-67, at Gill Coliseum on Jan. 20. The Beavers led 54-47 with 8:06 to play before the Trojans went on an 18-0 run to take a 65-54 lead. Tres Tinkle led Oregon State with 21 points and Stephen Thompson Jr. added 16. Elijah Stewart led four Trojans in double figures with 18 points, while Jordan Usher scored 14 off the bench, and Chimezie Metu and Jordan McLaughlin chipped in 14 apiece.

USC swept the series last season, winning 70-63 on Dec. 28 at Gill Coliseum and 92-66 on Feb. 9 at the Galen Center. Thompson Jr. averaged 15.5 points in the two games, including 24 in the game in Corvallis.

TWO DOWN, ONE TO GO: Stephen Thompson Jr. and Drew Eubanks both joined the 1,000-point club this season. If Tres Tinkle reaches the milestone, it would be the third time in program history an Oregon State team had three 1,000-point scorers. Tinkle needs 71 points to join the exclusive club.
