Get to Know Mary Jacobsen
The next gymnast in our Get to Know series, before we cross into the new year, is Mary Jacobsen. Mary is one of seven children and was a two-time J.O. nationals qualifier prior to arriving in Corvallis. Mary has been a mainstay in the Beavers' vault, bars and floor lineups since her freshman season in 2016 and has seven event titles to her credit. A two-time Pac-12 All-Academic selection and a three-time Scholastic All-American, Mary is majoring in computer science with an option in computer systems.
What OSU team do you get most excited to watch?
Baseball
Where would you most like to live someday?
At a lake
How many U.S. states have you visited?

What is your secret power/talent?
Making up games with whatever is around me
What fad or trend do you hope comes back?
Doesn't matter to me
What fictional place would you most like to go?
Lothlórien or Rivendell (from Lord of the Rings)
What's your favorite holiday?
Christmas, because it is celebrated for a month
If you could turn any activity into an Olympic sport, what would you have a good chance at winning a medal for?
Probably the games that I make up
Are you usually early or late?
I'm late for things I can be late for but never things I must be on time for.
Horror or romance?
Neither
Read or watch the movie?
Both. Usually read first but sometimes I want to read the book after I watched the movie because I want to know more of the story.
Hang gliding or whitewater rafting?
Whitewater rafting

What is the most annoying question that people ask you?
I like questions
What is something that a lot of people are obsessed with but you just don't get the point?
