Chayse Gomez Signs With Women’s Golf Program
November 15, 2018 | Women's Golf
CORVALLIS, Ore. – Oregon State women's golf head coach Dawn Shockley announced Wednesday that Chayse Gomez has signed a National Letter of Intent to join the program for the 2018-19 season.
Chayse Gomez (pronounced Chase)
Gomez attends the Rosary Academy in Fullerton, Calif., where she is a four-year letterwinner in golf and a three-time Trinity League individual champion. She was selected First Team All-League four times, First Team All-County one time and Second Team All-County three times. Gomez has finished in the top five of AJGA events six times and in the top 10 eight times.
She has a 3.7 cumulative GPA and is a member of the National Honor Society and Honor Roll.
Her hobbies include traveling, working out, reading and playing with her dogs.
She chose Oregon State because: "I love the support from the students and faculty around campus, the coaching staff is awesome and the facilities are spectacular. The team and family environment felt welcoming when I stepped foot on campus, and the school itself felt like home."
Shockley on Gomez: "The first time I saw Chayse play I was impressed. She has the poise and maturity of a player much older than she is. It didn't take long to realize that Chayse would be a great addition to our team after having her and her family on campus. You can tell a lot about someone after meeting their family and this family is one who we want to be a part of our family. Chayse is a dedicated student-athlete who not only excels in the classroom and on the course, but also in her community. I know in her four years at Oregon State she will not only make us proud, but Beaver Nation proud as well."
