Oregon State Falls on the Road at Stanford

The Beavers (2-8, 1-6 Pac-12) lost to the Cardinal (6-4, 4-3 Pac-12) by a final score of 48-17.
Quarterback Jake Luton completed 14-of-26 pass attempts for 205 yards and two touchdowns. Running back Jermar Jefferson eclipsed the 100-yard rushing mark for the sixth time in his career.
After falling behind 7-0 early in the first quarter the Beavers offense tied the game up with a quick touchdown drive. Luton found Trevon Bradford all alone down the middle of the field for a 63-yard touchdown pass.
The Cardinal responded pushing their lead over the Beavers to 34-7 midway through the second quarter. Oregon State rallied for a 13-play touchdown drive in the waning minutes of the first half taking 5-minutes, 15-seconds off the game clock. Luton threw his second touchdown pass of the game this time a 7-yard strike to tight end Noah Togiai.
The Beavers defense forced a turnover as Stanford tried to move down the field for points before halftime. Shemar Smith intercepted the Cardinal near midfield giving OSU the ball with 20-seconds left in the first half. A 27-yard pass from Luton to Bradford set up a 40-yard field goal that Jordan Choukair put through as time expired. Â
The Beavers trailed 34-17 at halftime, but Stanford controlled the second half winning by a final score of 48-17.
