Beavers Set to Host UCLA, USC This Week

• Oregon State returns to the friendly confines of Gill Coliseum this week to host the Los Angeles schools.
• Both opponents are ranked in the latest top 25 poll.
• OSU (11-13, 1-11 Pac-12) takes on No. 22 UCLA (11-8, 6-6) Friday night at 7 p.m.
• The Beavers are then back on the court Sunday at noon to host No. 15 USC (16-7, 8-4).

PROMOTIONS
• Friday will be Costume Night when the Beavers host UCLA. Children, under 12, wearing a costume will receive free admission ... there will be post-game trick-or-treating and autographs with the team in the Gill Coliseum locker room.
• Friday home volleyball matches are Faculty/Staff Friday games. Oregon State faculty and staff can purchase tickets for $5 with a valid OSU ID.
• Sunday's match is the volleyball program's DAM Hunger match. Fans who donate non-perishable food will receive a $5 general admission ticket.
• On Sunday, fans who present a ticket stub from Saturday's OSU football game against USC are eligible to receive a free general admission ticket to the volleyball match against USC.
• Both matches are Jr. Beavs matches. Members received free admission with the purchase of an accompanying $5 parent ticket.
• 2018 summer camp participants receive free admission to every home OSU volleyball match with their 2018 camp t-shirt.
AGAINST THE BRUINS
• The Beavers trail the all-time series with the Bruins 60-3. OSU's last win over UCLA was a five-set match in Westwood in 2007.
AGAINST THE TROJANS
• Oregon State is 9-54 all-time against USC. The Beavers last beat the Trojans in a four-set win in Corvallis in 2014.
LAST WEEKEND IN THE DESERT
• Oregon State earned its first Pac-12 win of the year Sunday at Arizona State. The Beavers dropped the opening set to the Sun Devils before winning the next three sets to secure the victory, 18-25, 25-21, 25-21 and 25-22.
• Amy Underdown led the offense with 17 kills and Maddie Goings added 10. Grace Massey recorded 16 digs and while notched 13 and Underdown 10.
• OSU fell to No. 23 Arizona in three on Friday.
TOP OF THE PAC
• Libero Grace Massey ranks fourth in the Pac-12 with 4.58 digs per set. She has led, or tied for the lead, the Beavers in digs in 22 out of 24 matches in 2018.
ACES
• Sophomore libero Grace Massey was named Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Week following the opening week of the season. Massey accumulated a conference-high 65 digs at the Iowa State Challenge and was named as a tournament co-MVP.
• Freshman setter Maddie Sheehan was named as the Pac-12 Freshman of the Week following the SDSU/USD Challenge. Sheehan tied her career-high with 44 assists and added career-bests with six kills and five blocks in a win over No. 23 San Diego.
• Senior Kayla Ellis ranks fourth on OSU's all-time list with 1,395 career digs. She remains within striking distance of third (Tricia Becker, 1,483) late in the season.
• Earlier this season, junior middle blocker Serena Bruin came off the bench to record 12 block assists at San Diego State. Her 12 block assists tie for the second-most in a single match in OSU history.
• The day after Bruin's feat, senior middle blocker Maddy Gravley posted 12 blocks of her own at San Diego, including 10 block assists, which rank tied for ninth on the school's all-time list.
ON THE SIDELINE
• Senior Kory Cheshire is out for the season due to an undisclosed injury.
• Senior outside hitter Shekinah Clarke will miss the remainder of the season due to a knee injury.
• Both will apply for another year of eligibility and intend to return to the program in 2019.HALL OF FAME
• Last month, Oregon State held an OSU Athletics Hall of Fame Class of 2018 induction ceremony. Among this year's inductees was the 1969-70 and 1970-71 Oregon State volleyball teams.
• The 1969-70 team captured the Pacific Northwest Trophy and won their first 21 matches. The team finished 23-3 making it to the "Sweet 16."
• The 1970-71 team gained momentum at the end the of the season and advanced to the "Elite Eight" going 5-1 in the postseason for an overall mark of 22-8.
• Both teams were honored on the court during Sunday's match against California.
ALL-TOURNAMENT TEAMS
• SDSU/USD Challenge - Amy Underdown was chosen as the MVP after leading the team in kills in each match as the Beavers went 3-0 including a five-set upset of No. 23 San Diego. Maddy Gravley was also named to the all-tournament team.
• K-State Invitational - Haylie Bennett and Maddie Sheehan were named to the all-tournament team.
• Iowa State Challenge - Maddie Goings and Lindsey Schell were each named to the Iowa State Challenge All-Tournament Team and Grace Massey was selected as a tournament co-MVP on the season's opening weekend.
