Thompson Named CIF Player Of The Year

CORVALLIS, Ore. – Oregon State men's basketball signee Ethan Thompson was named the California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) Open Division Player of the Year on Monday.

Thompson led Bishop Montgomery High School to the Southern California Open Division Regional championship with a 60-53 win over Mater Dei High last Saturday. The Knights will face Woodcreek (Roseville) in the state title game this Saturday at the Golden 1 Center in Sacramento.

The 6-foot-5 guard helped Bishop Montgomery post a 30-2 record and the No. 4 ranking in the nation according to MaxPreps.

He carries a 4.17 cumulative GPA at Bishop Montgomery High School.

Thompson signed a National Letter of Intent to join the Oregon State men's basketball program for the 2017-18 season.
