
Beavers Set Personal Bests at Pac-12 Championships

 FEDERAL WAY, Wash - The Oregon State women's swimming team continued day two of the Pac-12 Championships at the Weyerhaeuser King County Aquatic Center on Thursday. The day started with individual events and saw 14 personal-best times posted out of 19 total swims. The Beavers finished day two in ninth place with 130 points.

Senior Andrea Young started the day for the Beavers in the 200-IM and placed 19th in the preliminary runs to earn a spot in the consolation finals. The Washington native place 21st overall with a time of 2:02.85. Her prelim time of 2:01.66 was her career best and moved her up a spot to 7th in Oregon State's top-10 times.

In the 50-freestyle preliminaries, senior Sophie MacEwan touched at 23.42, which is the fastest in the event this season. It is also moves her up in the Oregon State top-10 list to number eight.

In the final event of the night, the Oregon State 200-free relay shaved over two seconds off its season best, just missing setting another school record by .3 seconds with a final time of 1:32.91. The relay team was made up of Anni Hecker, Sophie MacEwan, Czsarina Isleta and Andrea Young.

Day three of the Pac-12 Championships will continue on Friday, featuring more individual events, including freshman standout Felicia Anderson in the 100-back, Andrea Young in the 100-fly, breaststrokers Czsarina Isleta, Corrine Shigeta and Allie Kilroy.
