Beavers To Compete At Two-Day Tourney

CORVALLIS, Ore. – The Oregon State women's golf team will compete at the Westbrook Spring Invitational in Peoria, Ariz., this Sunday and Monday.

FIELD (13): Oregon State, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kansas State, Nebraska, New Mexico State, Notre Dame, Ohio State, UC Davis, Washington State and Wisconsin.

COURSE: The tournament will be held at the par-72, 6,269-yard Westbrook Village Golf Club Vistas Course.

BEAVERS' LINEUP: Oregon State will go with a lineup of senior Elyse Smidinger, juniors Susie Cavanagh and Hannah Swanson, sophomore Olivia Benzin and freshman Nicole Schroeder.
Â
FORMAT: Two-day, 54-hole tournament with 36 holes on Sunday and 18 holes on Monday. The top-four individuals from each five-member team with the lowest scores for each 18-hole round constitute the scoring members for that given round.

TEE TIMES: There will be a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. MT (7:30 a.m. PT) both days.

LIVE SCORING: There will be live scoring for the tournament on birdiefire.com.

LAST TIME OUT: Oregon State opened its spring season with an eighth-place finish at the 22nd Annual Peg Barnard Invitational two weeks ago.

The Beavers shot a 33-over 303-398--601 at the par-71, 6,084-yard Stanford Golf Course to finish the two-day, 36-hole tournament in eighth.
Â
No. 1 Stanford won the 12-team event with a 3-over 571, while Oregon (13-over 581) and Colorado (19-over 587) rounded out the top three.

Elyse Smidinger fired an 1-over 72 in the final round to rocket 15 spots up the leaderboard and finish in a team-best tie for 18th place with a 7-over 77-72--149.

Olivia Benzin finished in a tie for 24h place with an 8-over 75-75--150 and Hannah Swanson was a stroke back with a 9-over 74-77--151 for a tie for 29th place. Nicole Schroeder finished in a tie for 38th with an 11-over 79-74--153 and Susie Cavanagh shot a 12-over 77-77--154 for 44th place.
