HIGHLANDS RANCH, Colo. – Ellie Slama fired a 1-under 71 to lead the Oregon State women's golf team for the second straight day at the Ron Moore Invitational.

Slama, a freshman from Salem, Ore., tied the school record in the first round with a 5-under 67 and sits in second place in the 80-player field with a 6-under 67-71--138.

Patricia Wong of Pepperdine leads Slama by a stroke with a 7-under 68-69--137.
Â
The Beavers are in fifth place, and only five strokes out of the lead, after carding a 3-over 286-293--579 at the par-72, 6,450-yard Highlands Ranch Golf Club.

New Mexico holds the clubhouse lead with a 2-under 574, while Denver is second (1-over 577), and Washington State and UTSA are tied for third (2-over 578).

The final round of the three-day, 54-hole tournament is Sunday and live scoring is available at birdiefire.com.

Junior Olivia Benzin fired a 1-over 73 for the second straight day and is tied for 19th place with a 2-over 146.

Senior Susie Cavanagh and junior Haley Nist are both tied for 37th place with a 4-over 148, as Cavanagh posted a pair of 74's and Nist has scores of 73-75. Sophomore Mari Nishiura is tied for 44th with a 7-over 73-78--151,

Sophomore Nicole Schroeder, who is competing as an individual, finished in red figures for the second straight round to move into a tie for seventh place with a 3-under 71-70--141,
