Dreams Come True
August 19, 2016 | Football
Dreams do come true thanks to a partnership between the Oregon State football program and Unitus Community Credit Union, it was jointly announced Friday.
The "Dream Come True" program welcomes one child facing serious illness to Reser Stadium for the ultimate fan experience at every home football game during the 2016 season. He or she will also receive tickets to enjoy the game from the Club seating area, pre-game sideline passes for the recipient and one guardian, a team signed football, a personalized game jersey and be recognized on the video board during the contest.
"We are very fortunate to play the sport we love and compete at a high level, but there are many children who do not have this opportunity," Beaver team captain Dustin Stanton said. "It is an honor to be able to alleviate the burden of their illness, even for just a short time, and welcome them into our football family."
"Our student-athletes are very passionate about being involved in community service efforts (football student-athletes combined for 1,145 community service hours during the 2015-16 academic year) and donating their time for great causes," Kayla Gross, Beyond Football Director said. "One cause that they are overwhelmingly committed to is interacting with children facing serious illnesses. We are deeply appreciative of Unitus Community Credit Union's support of this outstanding program."
"This year marks the 30th anniversary of our nationally acclaimed Credit Union for Kids program," Laurie Kresl, Vice President of Planning and Business Development at Unitus Community Credit Union said. "What a special way to celebrate our incredible milestone by launching this partnership with Oregon State and the Dream Come True program."
