The junior was a semifinalist last year
Oregon State University junior Nick Porebski has been selected as one of 28 student-athletes to the Ray Guy Award Watch List, signifying the nation's top punter.
Porebski, a native of Melbourne, Australia, was a semifinalist for the award last season. The 2015 Pac-12 Conference honorable mention selection had one of the best seasons ever for a Beaver punter. He forced 34 fair catches and placed 26 punts inside opponents' 20-yard line. Â The conventional and rugby style dual-threat punter also booted eight punts of 50-plus yards and ended the season with a 41.1 yards average.
The Augusta Sports Council manages the Ray Guy Award program. Ten semifinalists will be named on November 11. Three finalists will be announced on November 22. This year's winner will be presented during ESPN's coverage of the Home Depot College Football Awards Show on December 8 in Atlanta.
The Beavers open the season Thursday, Sept. 1 at Minnesota in a game that will be televised by the Big Ten Network before embarking on a seven-game home schedule at Reser Stadium that kicks off Saturday, Sept. 17 vs. Idaho State at 2 p.m. on the Pac-12 Networks.Â
