
Beavers Receive Bid to IRA Championships

CORVALLIS, Ore. – The Oregon State men's rowing team have been invited to the Intercollegiate Rowing Association (IRA) National Championships for the fourth straight seasons it was announced Tuesday. Three crews - the Varsity 8, Junior Varsity 8 and Third Varsity 8 will represent the Beavers at the national championship regatta.
“Everything is coming together at the right time to compete at the national championships,” head coach Gabe Winkler said. “The guys are fired up and ready to show their speed against the best in the country.”
The Beavers, who finished fourth overall at the Pac-12 Rowing Championships on Sunday, concluded the regular season ranked No. 20.
Oregon State has approximately two weeks to prepare for IRAs, including several crews the Beavers have already faced this season including Drexel, Hobart, Oklahoma City, Wisconsin and Yale as well as Pac-12 rivals California, Stanford and Washington.
The IRA National Championships are scheduled for June 3-5 on Lake Mercer in Princeton, N.J.
