Tyler Carlson Leads Team Up Leaderboard

Tyler Carlson fired a 1-under-par 70, and Trevor Yu and Kevin Murphy each carded even par 71s as the Oregon State men's golf team made a dramatic move up the leaderboard after two rounds of the 54-hole Bandon Dunes Championship at the 6,682-yard Bandon Trails Course.
The Beavers improved from 11th place to 7th thanks to a 21-stroke improvement from 308 the first day to 287 on Monday. OSU is just one shot out of sixth place, sitting at 595, and six strokes out of the top five.
Yu and Murphy lead the Beavers, both tied at 17th place at 147, after identical rounds of 76 and 71. Carlson was 10 shots better than his opening round and escalated the leaderboard 20 positions into a tie for 37th. Calum Hill and Jonas Liebich are the two other Beavers counting toward the team total standing at tied for 38th at 152 and tied for 52nd at 155, respectively.
Conner Kumpula, playing as an individual, was one of only five players Monday to shoot in the 60s, making six birdies on his way to a 69. He is tied for ninth, five shots out of the lead with a total of 144. Teammate Chris Tedesco is also competing as an independent and is tied with Liebich at 152.
Clemson's Stephen Behr and Utah Valley's Blair Bursey share the lead heading into the final round at 139. The Tigers lead the tournament by 18 shots over Missouri and Washington.
