Meet The Beavers: Hannah Swanson

The Oregon State women's golf team will compete at the Bay Area Intercollegiate Monday and Tuesday. The two-day, 54-hole tournament includes 13 teams competing at the par-72, 6,112-yard Meadow Club in Fairfax, Calif. There will be a shotgun start at 8:15 a.m. each day.
Heading into the Beavers' second tournament of the spring season, we take a closer look at Hannah Swanson, a sophomore from Forest Grove, Ore., who is majoring in business.

Favorite college subject: I really enjoyed my literature class last fall term. I've always loved a good book.
What is your best academic achievement to date?
Graduating high school with an honors diploma.
What do you want to do after you graduate from Oregon State?
I have no idea. Hopefully something I'm good at and enjoy.
When and where did you start playing golf?
I started playing golf around the age of 5. My family has been members at Pumpkin Ridge Golf Course my whole life.
Have you ever gotten a hole-in-one? If so, when and where for each?
Unfortunately, no.
What's your favorite golf course and why?
Witch Hollow/Pumpkin Ridge Golf Course will always be my favorite because it's where I grew up.
Why did you choose to attend Oregon State?
I have always been a Beaver Believer (Dad is alumni) and you can't get better than the Pac-12.
What do you like best about your teammates?
They are like family. Always there to cheer you up, or push you when a challenge occurs.
What do you like best about your coaches?
They try to make us better every day. Whether it's as people or golfers, they want the best out of us.
What do you like best about Corvallis?
I love the small town feel. Also, the local food is the best

George Lopez
Who would be in your dream foursome?
Tiger Woods, my dad and Jordan Spieth
If you could play a different college sport at Oregon State, what would it be and why?
Gymnastics! Their leotards are so cute and I've always envied gymnasts.
What is your best athletic achievement to date?
Playing golf for the OSU Beavers and winning High School State my junior year will always be a fond memory.
What are your team and individual goals for the season?
I would love to have my scoring average be around par. As for the team, making it to postseason is a huge goal for us.
