
Hillsboro to Host Dam City Showcase

Beaver Nation, are you ready for the Dam City Showcase? Oregon State Athletics invites you to full day of fun in Hillsboro Saturday, April 9 that includes a free football practice/scrimmage, the nationally ranked baseball team in action and a barbecue among other fan-friendly activities.
The football team will hold its first scrimmage of the spring practice session beginning at 11 a.m. at Hillsboro Stadium followed by OSU's currently ranked No. 3 baseball team hosting Central Arkansas at Ron Tonkin Field at 2:30 p.m. Both facilities are located within the Gordon Faber Recreation Complex adjacent to Highway 26.
“This doubleheader will be a great day full of activities and presents an opportunity to watch our outstanding student-athletes represent Beaver Nation.” OSU Vice President and Director of Athletics Todd Stansbury said. “Part of the University's Portland Metro strategy is to bring Beaver Athletics to our large donor and fan base, and develop lifelong relationships that benefit our outstanding young men and women.”
The football scrimmage, is expected to conclude at approximately 1:30 p.m., is followed with a barbecue on the concourse outside the stadium. Head football coach Gary Andersen and several assistant coaches will headline the event with discussions about the team heading into the 2016 season. Cost to attend the barbecue is $15 for adults and $10 for children 12-under with registration in advance required.
Fans holding tickets for the baseball game, originally scheduled for Goss Stadium at Coleman Field, will be reissued seat locations for entry into Ron Tonkin Field. Those that possess tickets for this game and are unable to attend will receive notification how to exchange those tickets for a future non-conference game this season. Reserved and general admission tickets will be on sale Monday, March 7 through the Hillsboro Hops. Reserved chairback seats are $23, bleacher seats $12 and general admission grass/berm $7. Fans can also take advantage of a discounted barbecue/bleacher ticket combination of $24 for adults and $20 for youth (12-under) – a 10 percent savings.
The football scrimmage in Hillsboro is the first in the metro area since the Spring Game in 2005 at then PGE Park and the baseball game is the first ever Beaver appearance at the home of the Arizona Diamondbacks' short season Single A Hops.
