Duvivier Earns Pac-12 All-Academic Honors
March 24, 2016 | Men's Basketball
WALNUT CREEK, Calif. – Oregon State men's basketball student-athlete Malcolm Duvivier was named to the Pac-12 All-Academic Second Team, Commissioner Larry Scott announced Thursday.
Duvivier, a junior from Toronto, Canada, earned Pac-12 All-Academic honors for the second straight year for his 3.11 GPA in business finance. He was named honorable mention last year.
A 6-foot-2 guard, Duvivier started all 32 games and averaged 6.1 points, 2.4 rebounds and 2.2 assists and helped the Beavers reach the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 1990. He hasn't missed a game in his three-year Oregon State career.
Last summer Duvivier went to the Dominican Republic as part of the Beavers Without Borders International Service Learning Program. He was also selected to the Pac-12 Student-Athlete Leadership Team (SALT) this past October.
To be eligible for selection, a student-athlete must have a minimum 3.0 overall grade-point average and be either a starter or significant contributor. The Pac-12 All Academic regulations define a “starter or significant substitute” as having participated in 50 percent of a team's scheduled contests, except in unusual circumstances, such as injury.
Oregon State men's basketball players have now earned conference All-Academic honors 26 times. It's the 13th consecutive year a Beavers' student-athlete has received Pac-12 Men's Basketball All-Academic recognition.
