
Impressive Finish in Strong Field

The Oregon State men's golf team shot a final round 2-over-par 290 to finish the three-day 25th Annual Amer Ari Invitational in seventh place at the par-72, 7,074-yard Waikoloa Kings' Course. The Beavers shot 16-under 848 for the 54-hole tournament to place in front of three nationally ranked clubs in the 19-team field.
Senior Tyler Carlson and junior Kevin Murphy paced OSU in the final round each firing an even par 72. Carlson's round included two birdies and an eagle on the 501-yard par 5 final hole as he finished in a tie for 30th place.
Junior Conner Kumpula led OSU overall for the tournament finishing tied for 10th with a 6-under 210. Carlson tied for 30th at 214, Murphy tied for 52nd at 217, Sophomore Jonas Liebich tied for 78th at 222 and freshman Trevor Yu tied for 83rd at 223.
The Beavers best round of the final day was shot by junior Calum Hill, competing as an independent, with a 68. Hill's round included five birdies over the back nine, including three over the final four holes. He finished tied for 36th at 215.
The Beavers return to action in three weeks when they compete at the Cabo Collegiate, which will be held from Sunday, Feb. 28 through Tuesday, March 1.
