QUICKLY: Oregon State is 25-5 at Gill Coliseum in two seasons under Wayne Tinkle ... Through Feb. 21 games, the Beavers are No. 35 in the RPI with six top-50 RPI wins and a strength of schedule of fourth in the nation ... Stephen Thompson Jr. (36) and Tres Tinkle (27) have combined to make more 3-pointers (63) than any freshman tandem in Oregon State history ... Thompson Jr. has made at least one 3-pointer in seven consecutive games to equal the longest streak of his career ... Tinkle has led the Beavers in scoring each of the past three games, while averaging 21.3 points ... Drew Eubanks is fifth in the Pac-12 in field goal percentage (.577) and 11th in blocked shots (1.2) ... Gary Payton II moved into 10th on Oregon State's career steals list with 157; his career steal average of 2.80 is the best in school history ... Oregon State needs one more win to clinch a winning record for the second straight season; the last time the Beavers had a winning mark in back-to-back years was 1989-1990.
vs. WASHINGTON: Oregon State and Washington meet for the 298th time with the Huskies leading a series that began in 1904, 158-139. The 297 meetings between the two schools are the third-most in NCAA history, trailing only Oregon State-Oregon (345) and Oregon-Washington (299).
The Beavers hold a 96-49 advantage in games played in Corvallis, including a win in the most recent meeting between the teams, 64-50, on Feb. 8, 2015 at Gill Coliseum. Oregon State led 21-18 at halftime before outscoring the Huskies 43-32 in the second half to snap a four-game losing streak in the series.
Four players scored in double figures for the Beavers, led by Gary Payton II's 17 points and 14 from Malcolm Duvivier. Jarmal Reid added 12 off the bench and Langston Morris-Walker chipped in 11.
This is the only meeting between the teams this season. With the unbalanced schedule in the Pac-12, Oregon State won't play a game in the state of Washington for the first time since 1911.
A WIN OVER THE HUSKIES: If Oregon State defeats Washington it will improve to 16-10 overall and 7-8 in Pac-12 play. It would also:
- Clinch a winning season for the Beavers. The last time Oregon State had a winning mark in back-to-back years was 1989-1990 (17-14 last season).
- Be the first time Oregon State defeated Washington in back-to-back home games since 2000-2001.
