CORVALLIS – Senior Jamie Weisner has been named Pac-12 Player of the Week for the second time this season, the conference office announced today.
Weisner, who was celebrated as part of Oregon State's Senior Night on Sunday, scored 25 points and pulled down a career-high 14 rebounds against No. 12 UCLA on Sunday, helping the Beavers earn their 14th-straight victory. The guard finished the game 4-for-6 from 3-point range and 7-for-8 from the free throw line. Weisner opened the week with an 18-point performance against USC on Friday evening as well.
Weisner, a Kinesiology major, became the seventh player in Oregon State history to reach the 1,500-point mark earlier this season, and is second on the Beavers career list for 3-pointers. The Clarkston, Wash. native is fourth in the Pac-12 with an average of 17.7 points per game, and leads all guards in the conference with a field goal percentage of 48.8. She sits 12th in the nation in 3-point percentage (43.4) and 15th in free throw percentage (87.4).
As a team, the Beavers are tied for first place in the Pac-12 with a 15-1 conference record (24-3 overall). Their 14-game winning streak matches the longest in school history, and Sunday's victory was Oregon State's fourth against a ranked opponent this season.
The Beavers will return to action Friday, when they open their Bay Area swing by taking on Stanford at 8 p.m. The game will be carried live on Pac-12 Networks.
