
Meet The Beavers: Ashlee Pickerell

The Oregon State women's golf team will compete at the Westbrook Spring Invitational on Sunday and Monday. The two-day, 54-hole tournament features 15 teams playing at the par-72, 6,269-yard Westbrook Village Golf Club. A shotgun start will begin at 8:30 a.m. MT (7:30 a.m. PT) each day and live scoring is available at birdiefire.com.
Heading into the Beavers' first tournament of the spring season, we take a closer look at senior Ashlee Pickerell, who was named a Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) All-American Scholar and a two-time Pac-12 All-Academic selection.

What is your best academic achievement to date?
Being an Academic All-American.
What do you want to do after you graduate from Oregon State?
Go to graduate school for public health.
When and where did you start playing golf?
I played in my first tournament when I was six at a par-3 course in Salem.
Have you ever gotten a hole-in-one? If so, when and where for each?
Two. One at the OGA Golf Course on No. 8 in 2014 and one at Loomis Trail on No. 12 in 2007.
What's your favorite golf course and why?
Portland Golf Club because it's an old-style golf course and is well maintained.
Why did you choose to attend Oregon State?
The support from the community is tremendous and the team is awesome.
What do you like best about your teammates?
We have each other's backs and they can always make me laugh.
What do you like best about your coaches?
They inspire me to push myself beyond what I thought I was capable of.
What do you like best about Corvallis?
The support from the community and the home-like feel.
Who is the most famous person you've played golf with?
Becky Morgan
Who would be in your dream foursome?
Tiger Woods, Michael Jordan, my dad and myself.
If you could play a different college sport at Oregon State, what would it be and why?
Basketball because I love because and it would be incredible to play in front of thousands of people.
What is your best athletic achievement to date?
Playing in the Safeway Classic.
What are your team and individual goals for the season?
Team goal is to make it to NCAA Regionals. Individual goal is to have a scoring average under 74.
