11 Beavers Earn Pac-12 Academic Honors

CORVALLIS, Ore. — 11 Oregon State women's soccer players have earned Pac-12 All-Academic honors, the conference office announced today.
The group is headlined by a trio of second team All-Academic selections, Kathryn Baker, Bella Geist and Annie Govig.
Redshirt junior Kathryn Baker is an environmental engineering major carrying a 3.88 GPA and also serves as a solid defender for the Beavers. Baker led the defensive core that recorded four shutouts last season. The Vancouver, B.C., native logged 1,602 minutes in 19 matches that she started this season. This is the second time Baker has been named to the Pac-12 All-Academic team, (1st team in 2014).
Junior Bella Geist is a biology major carrying a 3.84 GPA, while also serving as the Beavers' starting goalkeeper. Geist continued to work her way up the record books at Oregon State this season, concluding her junior season ranked third in school history with 297 career saves. The Milwaukie, Oregon native started all 20 games this season and tallied four shutouts. This is the second time Geist has been named to the Pac-12 All-Academic team, (1st team in 2015).
Senior Annie Govig is a biology major carrying a 3.80 GPA, while also being a four-year starter for Oregon State. The midfielder started 69 of 74 games that she appeared in, while starting every game for the last three seasons. The Sherwood, Oregon native has been named to the academic team every year that she qualified, including garnishing second-team honors for the second consecutive season.
Eight Beavers were named to the Pac-12 All-Academic honorable mention team which include: Nikki Faris, Helene Haavik, Natalie Higgins, Kayla Latham, Allison Pantuso, McKenzie Redberg, Emmy Rodriguez and Sabrina Santarossa.
