Senior Notched a Triple-Double on Wednesday
CORVALLIS – Oregon State guard Sydney Wiese has earned Pac-12 Player of the Week honors, the conference office announced on Monday.
Wiese recorded a triple-double in the Beavers' lone game of the week, a 93-52 victory over UC Davis. The communication major finished the game with 27 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists, while shooting 10-for-12 from the floor. Wiese's triple-double was the fourth in Oregon State history, and her 27 points marked a career-high.
The Player of the Week honor is the second of Wiese's career, and the first for the Beavers this season. A three-time All-Pac-12 Selection, the senior is pursuing the conference's all-time 3-point record, needing six more to match Candice Wiggins' mark of 295. Wiese currently sits eighth in Oregon State history with 1,398 career points, and third in OSU history with 507 career assists.
Oregon State will open the #Play4Kay Shootout on Monday, as they take on UNLV at 8 p.m. The Beavers will play three games in the tournament, before returning to Gill Coliseum for a matchup with Arkansas-Pine Bluff on Dec. 27.
