Beavers stay on the cusp of the Top 25

CORVALLIS, Ore. – The Oregon State wrestling team remained on the cusp of the Top 25 in the USA Today/National Wrestling Coaches Association's rankings, which were released on Tuesday.
The Beavers received three votes in this week's rankings, the third-highest total among teams also receiving votes. They were idle this past week.
There was no change at the top. Oklahoma State was again ranked No. 1 by USA Today/NWCA, followed by Penn State, Iowa, Ohio State and Missouri. Future OSU opponents in the rankings were Rutgers (12), Stanford (15), Oklahoma (16) and Arizona State (19).
Wyoming also received votes. Michigan, which defeated OSU 38-7 on Nov. 20, moved into the Top 10 at No. 10.
OSU returns to action this Friday and Saturday at the Cliff Keen Las Vegas Invitational at the Las Vegas Convention Center. The Beavers placed 24th at last year's event; 125-pounder Ronnie Bresser was their lone placer, as he took third.
Four Beavers earned Top-20 consideration in their respective weight classes by The Open Mat. Three were ranked by Amateur Wrestling News and two by InterMat in those website's weekly evaluations.
The team was ranked No. 23 in InterMat's dual-meet poll, but was not included in the tournament rankings.

This year's Pac-12 Championships are Feb. 26, at Stanford. The NCAA Championships are March 16-18 at St. Louis.

 - Redshirt sophomore 197-pounder Corey Griego (1-2) is ranked No. 14 by AWN and No. 16 by InterMat at184 pounds, his 2015-16 weight class.
 - Redshirt junior heavyweight Cody Crawford (1-0) is ranked No. 9 by AWN at 197 pounds, his former weight, and No. 20 by The Open Mat at heavyweight.
