October 14, 2016 | Women's Volleyball
Lila Toner tallied 13 kills on Friday night
CORVALLIS, Ore. – Lila Toner tallied a team-high 13 kills and finished with nine digs, putting her just one shy of her sixth double double of the season in Oregon State's three-set loss to No. 20 UCLA Friday night at Gill Coliseum.
Set scores were 14-25, 21-25 and 20-25.
Toner's 13 kills were one shy of a season-best for the senior, who tallied 14 against Tennessee Tech on Sept. 15. She hit .393, committing just one error in 28 attempts.
She also added two blocks, and her nine digs were third-best on the Beavers (8-10 overall, 1-6 Pac-12 Conference), who saw Mary-Kate Marshall and Kayla Ellis tie for the team lead with 13 apiece.
Marshall and Lanesha Reagan tied for second on the team with seven kills.
The Bruins (14-4, 5-3) held a narrow advantage in digs (64-to-56) and blocks (7.5 to 6) while the Beavers collected three service aces to UCLA's one. Reagan paced the Beavers with two.
McKenna Hollingsworth finished with 26 assists, putting her over 1,000 for her career. She is the 11th player in school history to reach that plateau.
Friday's match saw 1,359 at Gill Coliseum in support of the Beavers and the team's annual DAM Cancer match, with proceeds from t-shirt sales benefitting Project H.E.R.
