January 25, 2016 | Baseball
CORVALLIS, Ore. – KJ Harrison earned his third preseason All-America recognition on Monday when D1Baseball.com released its preseason awards list.
The Hawaiian native has now been selected as preseason All-America First Teamer by D1Baseball.com and Perfect Game and he's a second-teamer according to Collegiate Baseball.
Per D1, Harrison was “One of nation's top freshman bats last year (and) should be even better as a soph.”
Harrison was the Pac-12's Conference's top freshman in 2015. He batted .309 with 12 doubles, three triples, 10 home runs and a league leading 60 runs batted in. He was also named a Freshman All-American by D1Baseball.com, Baseball America, the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) and Louisville Slugger.
He and the Beavers will enter the 2016 season ranked in the top eight in at least four preseason polls. Baseball America and D1Baseball.com have Oregon State at No. 5, while Perfect Game ranks the Beavers at six. Collegiate Baseball, which released its rankings in December, has Oregon State at No. 8.
