2016 Gymnastics Schedule Released
September 23, 2015 | Women's Gymnastics
CORVALLIS, Ore. – The 2016 Oregon State gymnastics schedule has been released in conjunction with the announcement of the Pac-12 Networks women's gymnastics schedule and the Beavers will appear on the networks seven times.
The Beavers' non-conference slate features home meets with Auburn (Jan. 10) and Ball State with Seattle Pacific (Mar. 4) and road meets at Lindenwood (Jan. 15) and at Texas Woman's with LSU (Mar. 12).
OSU's meet with Auburn will be televised as well as five out of six conference duals and Pac-12 Championships.
Oregon State will host Stanford on Feb. 29 in the Beavers' only Monday night home meet. In addition to the Auburn and Ball State meets and the Monday meet, the home calendar includes Arizona State (Jan. 30) and California (Feb. 20). The Beavers have a total of five road trips scheduled with jaunts to Utah (Jan. 23), Washington (Feb. 8) and UCLA (Feb. 13), all of which will be televised, to go with their non-conference meets.
The regular season concludes with the Pac-12 Championships held at Washington's Alaska Airlines Arena Saturday, March 19. Both sessions will be televised on Pac-12 Networks.
OSU's schedule features seven meets against teams that finished the 2014 season ranked among the top 25 in the nation.
Oregon State returns 10 letterwinners, including a pair of All-Americans, from the 2015 squad that earned a trip to NCAA Championships where the injury-depleted Beavers finished 12th overall. Back for the Beavers are seniors Erika Aufiero, Risa Perez and Jamie Radermacher, juniors Silvia Colussi-Pelaez, Madeline Gardiner, Megan Jimenez, Kaytianna McMillan and Taylor Ricci, and sophomores Dani Dessaints and Shireen Khamedoost. Making their Beaver debuts in 2016 will be Mariana Colussi-Pelaez, Mary Jacobsen, McKenna Singley and Elizabeth Yu.
The 2016 season marks Tanya Chaplin's 19th as the head coach at Oregon State. Chaplin has led the Beavers to the NCAA Championship meet 11 times and to Pac-12 Championship titles twice in the last five years.
