Saelee Leads Beavers On Day One In Hawai'i

KAPALUA, Hawai'i. – Junior Chelsea Saelee shot a 3-over 75 to lead the Oregon State women's golf team in the first round of the Anuenue Spring Break Classic on Monday.
Senior Anica Yoo, junior Ashlee Pickerell and freshman Haley Nist all carded a 4-over 76 to make up the Beavers' 15-over 303 at the par-72, 6,022-yard Kapalua Bay Course. Oregon State is in eighth place in the 16-team field through 18 holes, and the top team among those not ranked in the top 50 by golfstat.com.

Texas holds the team lead with an even-par 288, and Louisville and UC Davis are tied for second with a 2-over 290.
The second round of the three-day, 54-hole tournament begins at 7:45 a.m. (HT (10:45 a.m. PT) on Tuesday and live scoring is available at golfstat.com.
Saelee had a team-best four birdies, two on each side, to go with seven bogeys for a 3-over 75 in the opening round that has her in a tie for 16th place with 36 holes to play.
Yoo had three birdies and two doubles, Nist had two birdies and six bogeys, and Pickerell 14 pars and four bogeys for their 76's. Sophomore Krissy Peterson had three birdies and nine bogeys to finish with a 6-over 78.
Only six golfers in the 91-player field finished in red figures, led by Paige Lee of UC Davis who fired a 4-under 68.
