
2016 Slate Features Seven Home Games

A nonconference game with Power 5 Conference member Minnesota, a regional matchup with rival Boise State and the 120th playing of the Civil War, presented by McDonalds, Spirit Mountain Casino, PacificSource Health Plans and Your Local Oregon Ford Stores, in Corvallis highlight the 2016 Oregon State football schedule.
The team will open the season with second-year head coach Gary Andersen taking the Beavers to Minneapolis to play the Minnesota Golden Gophers on Thursday, Sept. 1. Minnesota is scheduled to complete the current two-game series in September of 2017 with a visit to Reser Stadium.
Oregon State's next two games will be at home, hosting the Idaho State Bengals Sept. 17 and the Boise State Broncos Sept. 24. The Beavers and ISU will meet for only the second time – an OSU 61-10 victory in 2007. The Beavers and BSU will meet for the ninth time, OSU has a 5-3 advantage overall.
OSU travels to Boulder to play the Colorado Buffaloes Saturday, Oct. 1 to open Pac-12 Conference action. The remaining road schedule includes games at Washington Oct. 22, Stanford Nov. 5, and UCLA Nov. 12.
Oregon State is the last team to have a conference home game, hosting the California Golden Bears, Saturday, Oct. 8. The home league schedule also includes dates with Utah Oct. 15, Washington State Oct. 29 (Homecoming), Arizona Nov. 19 and the regular season finale vs. Oregon.
Every Oregon State football game will be televised live by a combination of ESPN's family of networks, ABC, FOX, FOX Sports 1 and Pac-12 Network.
Oregon State returns to the practice field in preparation for the upcoming season March 8 with the annual Spring Game Saturday, April 16 at Reser Stadium.

Schedule Notes:
· It's the first time OSU has played 11 consecutive Saturdays since 2012.
· OSU and Minnesota have played three times previous all in Minneapolis, with OSU posting a 17-14 victory in 1978.
· It's the first time OSU has opened on the road against a Big Ten team since Sept. 8, 1984 at Ohio State. The Beavers and Buckeyes will open the 2018 season in Columbus.
· Idaho State is the alma mater of OSU running backs coach Telly Lockette (1998). Head coach Gary Andersen was the defensive line coach at ISU in 1992 & '93.
· OSU has played a Big Sky Conference team, counting the 2016 season, three years in a row and has dates with Portland State and Southern Utah in 2017 and '18.
· OSU beat Boise State in the last meeting, 38-23, on Christmas Eve Day 2013 in the Hawai'i Bowl. It will be the first meeting between the two programs in Corvallis since 2005.
· The Beavers join Washington State as the last teams to open Pac-12 Conference play – Oct. 1.
· Arizona's visit to Reser Stadium Nov. 19 is the latest trip for the Wildcats to OSU since a Nov. 22 date in 1980; its first trip to Corvallis as a league member.
· It's the latest meeting in a season with UCLA since Nov. 22, 1980 in Los Angeles.
· The schedule marks the first time OSU has had two stints with back-to-back home league games in the same year since 1991.
· The three home dates in the month of October is the most since 1997 (3 games).
· The trips to Colorado and Washington will be on the respective schools' Homecoming weekends.
· OSU and Stanford have the Pac-12's earliest bye weeks (Sept. 10).
· OSU does not play a home weekday game for the first time since 2012.
· Game times for the first month of the season will be announced in the spring.
