Oregon State was picked to finish sixth in the 2015-16 Pac-12 Conference race, according to a poll of media members who cover the conference.
It's the highest the Beavers have been picked since the conference expanded to 12 teams in 2011. The Beavers were picked to finish third in 1993 and fifth in 2000 and 2010. The preseason media poll began in 1993.
The Beavers were picked to finish 12th in 2014-15. However, they far exceeded expectations by going 8-10 in conference play, 17-14 overall, and 15-2 at Gill Coliseum in Wayne Tinkle's first season as head coach.
Tinkle returns all five starters and nine letterwinners from that team. The Beavers have also added six talented freshmen who make up the highest-ranked recruiting class in program history.
