
Beavers Open Fall Season in Oklahoma

The Oregon State men's rowing team opens the 2015 fall season this Saturday and Sunday at the OCU Head of the Oklahoma Regatta.
The OCU Head of the Oklahoma includes 2.5 mile head racing during the day and 500m OGE NightSprints Saturday evening under permanent lights. This race includes junior, college and master rowers.
COURSE: The 2.5 mile head race course takes place on the Oklahoma River near downtown Oklahoma City. Competitors race in a counter-clockwise pattern with the starting line at the west end of the basin. The 500m OGE NightSprints course on the Oklahoma River is an adrenaline fueled sprint under the lights.
RACE TIMES: On Saturday the Beavers start at 4 p.m. CT in the Men's Collegiate 8 head race and will race again at 10 p.m. CT under the lights in the Collegiate 8 500-meter NightSprints. Racing resume at Sunday at 8:10 a.m. CT with the Beavers entered in the Men's Open 4x and the Men's Open 4+ at 9:10 a.m. CT..

QUOTING HEAD COACH GABE WINKLER: “This is a really fun race. We'll race in the head race in the morning and then in the sprints under the lights at night and then the night ends with fireworks. It's a lot of fun. This is a reward for our guys that have put in so much hard work during the summer to prepare for this season.”
