Game Notes
• Weather at game time was 69 degrees and partly cloudy. Wind was from the West-Southwest at 8 mph.
• The game aired on ESPN. Mark Jones was the play-by-play announcer while Rod Gilmore was the analyst and Jessica Mendoza was the sideline reporter.
• USC won the coin toss and elected to receive. The Beavers elected to kick from the east end zone.
• Oregon State captains were Sean Mannion, Ryan Murphy, Michael Doctor and Ricky Ortiz.
• Oregon State wore black helmets with white jerseys and black pants. USC wore maroon jersey and helmets with gold pants.
• Attendance for the game was 74,521.
Oregon State Team Notes
• Ryan Murphy's 97-yard kickoff return for a touchdown is the fifth-longest in Oregon State history … it was the first kick return for a touchdown since Nov. 23, 2013 when Victor Bolden went 98-yards for a score against Washington.
• Saturday night was the first time this season that the Beavers did not score in the 3rd quarter.
• The field goal block by Cyril Noland-Lewis in the third quarter was the Beavers' first since 2011 against BYU (Scott Crichton).
• Oregon State did not score an offensive touchdown for the first time since 2011 against California.
Oregon State Individual Notes
• On OSU's first offensive drive Xavier Hawkins carried the ball on a fly sweep … it was his first collegiate snap and he is the first OSU true freshman to play in 2014.
• Ryan Murphy returned a kickoff for the first time in his career in the first quarter … he returned it 97 yards for a touchdown.
• Sean Mannion finished the game with 123 yards – the first time in his career he has not reached 200 yards in a game he started.
• Dylan Wynn recorded his first sack of the season in the first quarter.
• Lavonte Barnett forced USC's Cody Kessler into intentional grounding in the 2nd quarter earning the first official sack of his career.
• Cyril Noland-Lewis was credited with a block field goal attempt in the 3rd quarter … the first of his career.
• Trevor Romaine's 38-yard field goal in the second quarter was his first of the season … he now has 46 made field goals in his career – third in OSU history.
