KAPALUA, Maui - Seshia Telles shot a 1-over 73 to lead the Oregon State women's golf team in the opening round of the three-day, 54-hole Anuenue Spring Break Classic on Monday.
The Beavers finished the first 18 holes of competition with a 17-over 305 at the par-72, 6,036-yard Kapalua Bay Course and sit in 14th place in the 18-team field with 36 holes remaining. Pepperdine leads the tournament with a 3-under 285, while Washington is second with a 1-under 287 and Arizona State is third with a 1-over 289.
Only four strokes separate Oregon State from moving into the top 10, as Tulsa is a shot ahead after a 16-over 304 and Colorado, Denver, Oregon and UC Davis are all tied for ninth with a 13-over 301.

Telles, a junior from Tualatin, Ore., had two birdies and two bogeys for an even-par 35 on the front nine, before shooting a 1-over 38 coming in with two birdies, including a chirp on the par-5 18th, for a 1-over 73 to put her in a tie for 18th place
Junior Lauren Sewell shot a 1-over 36 on the front nine and was 5-over through 17 holes but also birdied the par-5 18th hole to finish with a 4-over 76 for a tie for 43rd place. Sophomore Anica Yoo got her first birdie of the day on the par-5 15th hole, but took a double on the par-4 16th, before finishing with two pars to card a 5-over 77.
Freshmen Rachael Fischer, who is competing as an individual, shot a 7-over 79 to put her in a tie for 72nd place.
Noemi Jimenez of Arizona State and Grace Na of Pepperdine share the individual clubhouse lead after firing a 5-under 67.
The second round will begin with a shotgun start at 7:45 a.m. Hawai'i time (10:45 a.m. PT) and live scoring is available at golfstat.com.
