Game Notes
• Game time weather was sunny at 86 degrees with 10 mph wind from the northy.
• Attendance for the game was 44,153.
• The game aired on Pac-12 Networks with Kevin Calabro providing play-by-play, Glenn Parker as the analyst, and Ryan Nece as the sideline reporter.
• It was the first time the Beavers had played football on the Pac-12 Networks.
• Oregon State captains at the start of the game were Sean Mannion, Andrew Seumalo, Markus Wheaton, Jordan Poyer and Ryan Murphy.
• Arizona won the coin toss and deferred. OSU will receive and defend the south goal.
• Oregon State wore all white while Arizona wore blue uniforms and copper helmets.
• Prior to the game on ESPN GameDay – Lee Corso and Kirk Herbstreit picked Oregon State to win with Corso claiming he was “drinking the Orange and Black Kool-Aid.” Desmond Howard was in disagreement, picking Arizona and noting that he wasn't “drinking the Beaver Juice.” #beaverjuice became an immediate Twitter sensation throughout Beaver Nation.
Oregon State Team Notes
• The last time the Beavers were undefeated through the month of September was 2000. Although OSU opened the season 4-0 in 2002, the opener was actually played in August and the Beavers were beaten the last weekend of Sept.
• The last time Oregon State won back-to-back conference games on the road was in 2009 when OSU beat then-No. 23 California 31-14 (Nov. 7, 2009) and Washington State 42-10 (Nov. 21, 2009) … the last time OSU accomplished the feat in back-to-back weekend was 2007 when the Beavers beat Washington State 52-17 (Nov. 17, 2007) and then-No. 18 Oregon 38-31 in overtime (Dec. 1, 2007).
• Oregon State has now won its last six games in Tucson.
• Oregon State led 7-0 at the end of the first quarter … the Beavers have not allowed a point in the first quarter all season.
• Arizona took the lead (21-17) with 8:48 left in third quarter, making it the first time OSU has trailed in 2012. OSU re-took the lead (24-21) at the 4:25 mark … the Beavers have trailed for 4-minutes, 23-seconds in 2012.
• Markus Wheaton and Brandin Cooks each finished the game with more than 100 yards receiving for the second week in a row.
• Wheaton became the first OSU receiver with 10+ receptions since Wheaton (11) did it against Arizona State in 2011.
• OSU has won 25 out of its last 29 games when a rusher gains 100 yards.
Oregon State Individual Notes
• With the win Mike Riley moves into sole possession of first on OSU's all-time wins list with 75 (Lon Stiner).
• Scott Crichton's first quarter forced fumble is his first of the year and seventh of this career …Crichton is now tied with several players for second on OSU's career forced fumble list.
• Tyler Anderson's second quarter touchdown rush was the first score of his career.
• Rashaad Reynolds tallied 5 pass breakups in the first half tying the OSU single-game record set in 2002 by Dennis Weathersby.
• Markus Wheaton surpassed the 100-yard receiving mark for the second straight game and the eighth time in his career.
• Wheaton finished the game with 10 receptions giving him 163 in his career moving into sole possession of fifth place on OSU's career receptions list.
• Wheaton finished the game with 166 receiving yards (a career-high for the second straight week) giving him 2,153 career receiving yards moving into sixth place on OSU's career receiving yards list.
• Brandin Cooks finished the game with 149 receiving yards – his second 100-yard game in his career (both in the last two weeks).
• Cooks also set a career-high with 9 receptions.
• Storm Woods finished the game with 161 rushing yards setting a career-high. He is the first 100-yard rusher for the OSU Malcolm Agnew ran for 103 against Washington State in 2011.
• Sean Mannion exceeded the 200-yard passing mark for the 14th straight game …
• Mannion finished the game with 433 yards – a career-high for the second straight week. It was also Mannion's sixth career 300-yard passing game and second in as many weeks … he is the fifth player in OSU history with three or more 350-yard passing games in his career. It is the fifth-most prolific passing game in OSU history.
• Rueben Robinson's fourth quarter sack was the first of his career.
