
Volleyball Loses In Straight Sets At No. 1 UCLA

LOS ANGELES - Katelyn Driscoll set a career-high with eight kills but the Oregon State volleyball team lost in straight sets to No. 1 UCLA Friday night, 14-25, 18-25, 17-25.
Driscoll surpassed her previous season and career high of three kills with the eight-kill performance. She was credited with just one attack error in 24 attempts and finished with a .292 hitting percentage. She led the team as the Beavers (10-4 overall, 0-2 Pac-12 Conference) finished with 29 kills and a .127 hitting percentage overall.
The Bruins (9-2, 1-1), however, picked up 16 kills in each of their three sets for the win. UCLA hit .305.
Rachael Kidder led the Bruins with 14 kills while Tabi Love had 12.
UCLA also had the advantage defensively, collecting eight blocks and 42 digs. The Beavers, meanwhile, finished with six blocks and 32 digs.
Ashley Eneliko recorded four kills and led the Beavers with four blocks, and Amanda Brown made her Oregon State debut with one kill and an assisted block.
UCLA took the first set, 25-14, on the strength of 16 kills and three blocks. The Beavers, meanwhile, managed seven and three, respectively. The Bruins led throughout the first set.
Oregon State started with the lead in set two, but the Bruins led for most of the frame for a 25-18 lead. OSU upped its hitting percentage to .129 after hitting .069 but UCLA posted a .281 mark in set two. The Bruins again claimed 16 kills.
UCLA finished the match with a 25-17 win in the third set. Oregon State jumped out to a 5-1 lead but could not hold the advantage and watched the Bruins tied the match at seven, eventually leading for good at 8-7. UCLA hit .316 in the frame while OSU managed a .176 clip.
The Beavers return home for the first time this season when hosting Colorado next Friday, Sept. 28. Oregon State hosts the Buffaloes at 6 p.m. PT and the match can be seen live on Pac-12 Oregon.

Season and single-match tickets for the Beavers' 2012 campaign are now on sale.
Season tickets are $56 for adults and seniors/children (aged 62 or older or ages 3-18) are $40. Adult single-match tickets are $7, while children are $5. Groups of 20 or more can purchase tickets for $2 per.
