Beavers Conclude Play At Pac-12's; Hope For Postseason Berth

Pac-12 Women's Golf Championship Final Results 
PULLMAN, Wash. - The Oregon States women's golf team concluded the inaugural Pac-12 Women's Golf Championship in 11th place on Sunday and will find out if they earned a postseason berth when the field for the 2012 NCAA Division I Women's Golf Championship is announced via a webcast selection show on www.ncaa.com at 6 p.m. on Monday.
The Beavers matched Saturday's round with a 12-over 300 on Sunday at the par-72, 6,200-yard Palouse Ridge Golf Course and finished the three-day, 54-hole tournament with a 53-over 317-300-300--917 in a field that featured eight teams ranked among the Top 26 in the nation according to golfstat.com.
"I was happy with the team's performance today," Oregon State head coach Risë Alexander said. "The first day's score definitely put us under the gun, so to speak. I think our game from tee to green was up to their peers in our conference. It is their ability to overcome mistakes without compounding their errors that is holding us back from some great success. As soon as they develop that confidence and trust, which we have been working long and hard on this year, they will make huge jumps in their scoring."

Lauren Sewell was the highest Oregon State finisher for the third time her sophomore campaign after finishing in a tie for 29th place with a 10-over 79-73-74--226.
Freshman Anica Yoo got back to her usual play on Sunday after a tough second round to card a team-best 1-over 73 and finish the tournament with a 14-over 77-80-73--230 for a tie for 39th place.
Senior Whitney French and sophomore Seshia Telles both tied for 44th place with a 16-over 232, while junior Rachael Fischer posted her first score of the tournament in the 70's on Sunday to finish with a 22-over 80-81-77-238 for a tie for 52nd place.
California won the team title with a 17-over 881 to finish a stroke ahead of USC and Doris Chen of USC won medalist honors with a 1-over 217.
