TARZANA, Calif. - The Oregon State women's golf team played two rounds and 36 holes of golf on Monday and sits in eighth place at the 15-team Bruin Wave Invitational, a two-day, 54-hole tournament that includes seven top-50 teams.
The Beavers shot a 49-over 309-316--625 at the par-72, 6,131-yard El Caballero Country Club with freshman Anica Yoo leading the way with a 9-over 77-76--153 and junior Rachael Fischer just a shot back after a 10-over 74-80--154. Senior Whitney French carded an 11-over 81-74--155 and sophomores Seshia Telles and Lauren Sewell finished with a 19-over 163 and 24-over 168, respectively.
Pepperdine leads the tournament heading into Tuesday's final round with a 12-over 588 and is followed by Oklahoma State (23-over 599), No. 1 UCLA (27-over 603) and San Diego State (31-over 607). Christine Wong of San Diego State holds the clubhouse individual lead with a 3-under 68-73--141, while Alina Ching of Pepperdine is the only other golfer under-par with a 1-under 74-69--143.
