Women's Golf Finishes 10th At UNLV Spring Invitational

BOULDER CITY, Nev. - The Oregon State women's golf team finished 10th with a final round 295 on Wednesday, its best round of the tournament, at the 7th annual UNLV Spring Invitational.
The Beavers finished with a 42-over 301-310-295--906 at the par-72, 6,244-yard Boulder Creek Golf Club. Pepperdine won the 15-team tournament with a 20-under 285-278-281--844.
"Today was our best round in a while," Oregon State head coach Risë Alexander said. "Now we will concentrate on our wedges and putting to make further improvements. The players have to concentrate on finals while continuing to prepare for the last two regular season events. Academics obviously take precedence, but we will make the most out of a modified practice schedule next week."
Junior Whitney French continued her strong play with a 2-over 74 to finish tied for 22nd overall with a 6-over 72-76-74--222.. Freshman Seshia Telles fired the Beavers best round of the tournament with a 1-under 71 on Wednesday and finished tied for 27th with a 7-over 75-77-71--223.
Sophomore Chelsey Lind also shot her best round of the tournament on Wednesday with a 2-over 74 and finished tied for 49th, while sophomore Rachael Fischer was at 17-over 233 for a tie for 54th and freshman Lauren Sewell finished 23-over 239 for a tie for 69th place.
The Beavers are back in action March 25-27 at the MountainView Collegiate Invitational at the SaddleBrooke Golf Course in Tucson, Ariz.
