TUCSON, Ariz. - The Oregon State women's golf team had four players improve their afternoon round on Friday and sits in 13th place after the first day of competition at the 13th Annual MountainView Collegiate.
The Beavers shot a 9-over 297 in the afternoon round at the par-72, 6,221-yard MountainView Golf Club after posting a 21-over 309 in the morning round to improve 12 strokes and go from 17th place to 13th with the impressive all-around team effort.
"It was a long day today with a disappointing first round and a much-improved second round," Oregon State head coach Risë Alexander said. "I see a lot of promise in this young team. They understand their shortcomings and vow to make improvements over the next few months. I see this team and their experiences this year as an investment in the continued improvement of the program."
