PERSONAL—(Pronounced-Happy) Born 5/30/81 in San Diego, CA...son of David Happe and Pamela Bartholomew...father is a firefighter...he is in the College of Health & Human Performance and his major is exercise & sport science...has an older sister, Gennie Happe, 22...enjoys surfing and snowboarding...favorite athlete is Junior Seau...selected OSU because, “My best opportunity to be the best I can be.”
OSU—(2002—Junior)—Noah will open his junior season on a streak of 11 straight starts and having played in 22 of 23 games (last 22 straight) in two years...he has accounted for 229 career defensive points, including 45 tackles (29 solo)...he has seven career sacks and 10 tackles for loss...Noah also is a key contributor on special teams as he handles duties as the long snapper on punts, PAT and field goal attempts for the Beavers...Noah is a very intense athlete with tremendous speed...despite his size (234 pounds), he is one of the top defensive ends in the Pac-10...he was OSU's No. 1 defensive left end the entire spring...he produced a pair of sacks for the losing White squad in the spring game...he is an outstanding pass rusher and puts a lot of pressure on opposing quarterbacks...during the winter conditioning program, Noah posted weightlifting bests of 405 in the back squat, 300 in the bench press, 314 in the power clean and 253 in the push press...his best vertical jump mark was 30.5 inches.
(2001—Sophomore)—Noah might have been the most improved football player on the Oregon State roster in 2001...he started in all 11 games at left end and wound up with 217 defensive points for the Beavers, fifth best on the team...Noah also was OSU's long snapper for punts and PAT and field goal attempts for the entire season...he produced 41 tackles, including 25 solo...he had 10 tackles for loss and seven sacks...he caused three fumbles, recovered one fumble, broke up one pass and blocked one kick...he tied for third in the Pac-10 Conference with three caused fumbles and he tied for sixth in the conference with seven sacks...his best individual game of the season was at USC when he had a team-high 58 points...he produced six solo tackles, three sacks, four tackles for loss and caused a fumble...he had one tackle at Fresno State in his first collegiate start...he had five tackles at New Mexico State...he produced 30 defensive points with five tackles, a sack and a caused fumble vs. UCLA...had seven tackles and a recovered fumble at WSU...had five tackles, a sack and two tackles for loss vs. Arizona...had one tackle, a sack and tackle for loss, plus a blocked field goal attempt at ASU...had four tackles, a sack, a tackle for loss and a caused fumble vs. California...had three tackles vs. Washington...failed to register a defensive point in limited action vs. Northern Arizona...had four tackles, a tackle for loss and a pass broken up at Oregon...Noah was listed No. 4 on the depth chart at weak linebacker for the start of spring drills and he moved up to No. 3 the conclusion of spring drills…he was switched to defensive end a the start of fall camp...in the winter program, Noah posted a bench press mark of 285 pounds and 286.6 in the power clean.
(2000-Redshirt Freshman)—Noah missed the first game of the season but played in the final 11, strictly on special teams…he had 12 defensive points on four solo tackles during the year…he was a solid contributor on special teams all season…Noah came to OSU as a walk-on but impressed the coaching staff with his play as a redshirt in 1999 and was put on scholarship spring quarter of 2000...he reported to spring drills listed No. 4 on the depth chart at right end...he was moved to linebacker in the first week of spring drills and with the injury to Tevita Moala (knee surgery) early in spring drills, Noah was moved to No. 2 at strong linebacker behind Darnell Robinson...he performed extremely well during the spring and solidified his hold on the No. 2 strong linebacker spot...he moved to No. 3 at strong linebacker with the start of fall camp…during winter conditioning, Noah posted weightlifting bests of 340 in the back squat, 245 in the bench press and 253 in the power clean.
(1999-Freshman)—Joined the Oregon State program in fall camp as a walk-on defensive end and long snapper and performed on the scout team while redshirting in 1999.
SIMI VALLEY HIGH SCHOOL-(1997-99)—Noah earned two letters and was a two-year starter at defensive end for Simi Valley...he was a two-time all-league (Marmonte) selection...named All-Ventura County as a senior and All-San Fernando Valley...played in the Ventura County All-Star game in July, 1999...played for Coach Ron Veres...also played tight end on offense and caught six passes for 125 yards and a touchdowns against Westlake High School in his best offensive performance.
