
Swimming Falls to Washington State on Senior Night

Jenni Dole and Rachel O'Brien both won twice but the Oregon State women's swim team fall to Washington State on Senior Night by a final score of 156-106 at the Stevens Natatorium in Dixon Recreation Center.
"They did really well for where we are in the season and how we are training," women's swimming assistant coach Mary Anne Gerzanick-Liebowitz said following the meet. "They stood up, and left it all in the pool which is all you can ask for."
The meet started quickly for the Beavers when the team of Dole, Marisa Warman, O'Brien and senior Ashley Kerekanich turned in the team's second best time in the 200 yard medley relay when the posted a time of 1:44.31 and finished first for the event.
Dole picked up her first individual win of the evening in the 100 backstroke when she posted a time of 56.69. She followed up her performance in the 100 back with another win in the 200 backstroke when she finished in a time of 2:02.65. It was Dole's eighth and ninth individual dual wins of the season.
O'Brien picked up her first win of the night in the 200 butterfly when she finished with a time of 2:03.49 for her sixth dual win of the season in the 200 butterfly. She added another win in the 500 freestyle, her second of the season in the event, when she posted a time of 5:02.46. She now has eight total dual wins on the season.
Kerekanich, in her second to last home meet as a Beaver, recorded her first individual win of the season when she posted a time of 24.24.
"We really swam well today," swimming head coach Larry Liebowitz said. "These were a lot of our best times in the second half of the year so far. We are in a good spot. I hate to lose a meet, I hate losing meets, but we'll get to race them again at the Pac-10 Championships at the end of the year."
The Beavers return to the pool Saturday morning at 11 a.m. when they host the Vandals of Idaho at Stevens Natatorium for their final home meet of the season.
