Team Notes
The Beavers forced 24 turnovers in their opening game against UT-Arlington. The most turnovers they forced in a game last season were 23 on Dec. 6, 2009, against Cal State Bakersfield.
The Beavers overcame a 12-point deficit (16-4 and 14-2) to defeat UT-Arlington in their first game. The biggest deficit they overcame in a win last season was 11 points in two different games.
Four Oregon State players scored in double figures in the opening game against UT-Arlington. The Beavers were 3-1 last season when four players scored in double-figures and 2-0 when five players scored in double-figures.
Player Notes
Sophomore forward Angus Brandt set career-highs against UT-Arlington in points (10), field goals made (4) and rebounds (6) and equaled career-highs in three other categories.
Sophomore forward Joe Burton called himself a "lean, mean, fighting machine" after the exhibition win over Western Oregon. He was 295 pounds last year and is 280 this season. He led the Beavers with seven rebounds in the win over UT-Arlington and has led the team in rebounding in five of the past 10 games dating back to last season.
Junior walk-on Kevin McShane had his first career block against UT-Arlington
Sophomore guard Jared Cunningham set a career-high with 33 minutes played against UT-Arlington
Senior forward Omari Johnson led the Beavers with 15 points against UT-Arlington. He led the team in scoring one game last season with 18 points against Oregon on Feb. 6, 2010.
