
Men's Hoops Holds Off Seattle Pacific

CORVALLIS, Ore. (AP) -- Calvin Haynes had a career-high 20 points and Josh Tarver hit two free throws with 1.3 seconds left to help Oregon State to a 71-67 win over Seattle Pacific on Tuesday.
Oregon State (3-5) has won three of four since snapping a 25-game losing streak that stretched back to early last season.
Brandon Larreu led Division II Seattle Pacific (6-3) with 16 points.
Oregon State led by as many as 15 in the first half before Seattle Pacific rallied to cut its deficit to 37-32 at the break.
After four ties and six lead changes in the second half, Oregon State took a 64-61 lead on Seth Tarver's three-point play with 2:28 left.
Seattle Pacific closed to within one, but could get no closer.
Oregon State will return to action on Saturday, Dec. 20, when the Beavers host Howard at 7:06 p.m.
