California wide receiver Chase Lyman's 176 receiving yards was his career-high and is the 11th-highest single-game total in Bears history. Lyman's three touchdown catches tied the school's single-game record, last accomplished by Bobby Shaw in a triple-overtime win against Oregon State in 1996. Lyman's 79-yard touchdown catch from Aaron Rogers was the Bears' longest of the season and the 12th-longest pass play in Cal history, and it made Lyman the only player in Cal history to have at least two catches of 78 yards or more in his career.

Oregon State quarterback Derek Anderson's string of consecutive games with a touchdown pass ended at 22.

California's touchdown on its first drive of the game marked the first time an OSU opponent has scored on its first possession this season.
