Head Coach Judy Spoelstra Quotes
What did you feel that you did well tonight?:
"I thought that we were moving the ball very effectively and I liked the offensive sets where we made the extra passes. We also did a good job of getting the ball inside. We were a little cold in the first half and I was really proud of our players for staying with it."
How Portland State challenged the Beavers:
"Portland State played very aggressively player-to-player and did a good job of forcing us into different looks. Some of our guards had a hard time getting open on ball reversals and that is something that we are going to need to work on."
Thoughts on facing PSU's player-to-player defense:
"We have worked on playing against the zone for the past three days, when you only score 14 in the first half like we did a few nights ago, it is something you know you need to work on. I was kind of happy to see player-to-player and I'm sure some of the players were to."
Gives credit to her players:
"I give Leilani, Brina and Hollye a lot of credit for making themselves available and always around the ball. I thought Jessica Jones and Mandy Close did a good job early in the game keeping the ball moving and in their hands."
On the play of Casey Bunn:
"I though Casey Bunn gave us a great lift off of the bench and got some great rebounds for us."
