Beavers Take Down Eagles

CORVALLIS, Ore. (AP) - Philip Ricci had 17 points as Oregon State defeated Coppin State 59-53 Saturday.
The Eagles were lead by Larry Tuckers 18 points and eight rebounds. Jimmy Boykin added 13 points and nine boards.
Beaver forward Brian Jackson got all of his 14 points in the second half to pass 1,000 for his career. Despite being the taller team, OSU was out-rebounded by Coppin State 31-27. The Eagles (1-8) havent allowed an opponent to score over 68 points all season.
Oregon State (7-2) lead 28-19 with four minutes to play in the half, and 33-27 at the break. Both teams shot 11-of-24 in the first half.
The Beavers led by as many as 10 points in the second half, but led by Tuckers 10 second half points, the Eagles chipped away at the deficit. Boykins jumper at 2:02 got Coppin State within 55-51, but Jackson answered with an 18-footer to keep the lead at six.
The Eagles missed a shot on their next possession and JS Nash scored on the other end to put the game away.
