Head Coach Judy Spoelstra Quotes
What she had to say on winning her 100th career game at OSU:
"It is certainly one that you do not forget. It is very memorable."
Why she is proud of the team:
"I was very proud of our athletes and the way they came out today. They came out very aggressive and very tough."
On the team playing their first game following finals week:
"This is the best effort that I can remember coming off of finals week, and all of our players did very well on their exams. I anticipate us having somewhere above a 3.0 GPA as a team."
On Brina Chaney:
"Brina Chaney had some great blocks. She was staying very vertical with her blocks in the first half. She did a great job of being in the right position."
On playing the bench:
"We didn't have a real good opportunity to spread out a lot of our minutes and that is something I always really want and like to do, but I think everyone is very fired up about the game. I think our bench is probably the most active bench in NCAA basketball, they are almost as fun to watch as the players on the floor."
On Florida's 'packed in zone':
"Florida was packing in the zone, so we told our players during halftime and timeouts that it didn't really matter if they were packing in the zone because we have plays scripted and all we have to do is figure out which ones will score the best. The three plays we picked were one's which got our guards the ball and kept them moving, and one which got the ball to our post in the short corner."
On OSU's problems with turnovers:
"We felt that they were getting turnovers out in front, and those are the worst turnovers to have because they turn into transition baskets, like the ones which Florida got just before halftime."
On the play of Florida's Tamia Williams:
"She was a great player who stepped up."
