SAN DIEGO (AP) - Roy Morris scored a career-high 20 points as San Diego beat Oregon State 82-71 on Saturday.
Morris came off the bench to make all seven of his field goal attempts. The Toreros shot 60 percent from the field (28 of 47) and hit 21-of-31 free throws, including 10-of-16 in the final 2:13.
Tyler Field added 15 and Cameron Rigby had 12 points for San Diego (5-1), which beat a Pac-10 school for the first time since a win at Stanford in 1980.
Oregon State (4-2) came back from a 15-point deficit with just less than 13 minutes remaining. But the Beavers could not pull any closer than seven points.
Deaundra Tanner led Oregon State with 20 points. Brian Jackson and Jason Heide scored 14 points each, although Heide was limited to only 23 minutes due to foul trouble.
The Beavers had only eight players available because of injuries and ineligibilities.
Morris scored seven unanswered points late in the first half to help the Toreros to a 38-31 halftime lead. San Diego then came out with a 14-6 run, capped by Nick Greene's rebound basket for a 52-37 lead with 12:47 left.
The game marked the grand opening of the Toreros' $17.5-million, 5,100-seat arena.
